December 2017 Editorial
Many
months have passed and yes, it’s Christmas time again!
Looking
back, we might have had a rollercoaster ride in 2017; we might have
been happy, sad, nervous, hopeful, hopeless, stressed, depressed or
we might have been so blessed!
2017
is indeed a year of change in Manito and these changes might have
been both good or not, which have had positive and/or negative impact
on our people.
May
mga pagbabago sa Manito na pwedeng ikinarahay o dai buda nagkaigwa ki
positibo o negatibong epekto sa mga tawo kan taong 2017.
There
were the organization of different TODAs (Tricycle Operators and
Drivers Assoc.), Coastal Rangers and Forest Protection Officers, the
successful Mayor’s Cup and BiDa Cup, the lively, colourful and
meaningful celebration of fiesta, the honourable services of our cops
headed by PSI Ronaldo Guiriba, the peaceful conduct of Oplan Tokhang,
the checkpoints and caravan conducted by LTO-Legazpi, etc.
Yaon
an pag-organisa kan man-iba-ibang TODA, pagkakaigwa ki bantay dagat
buda bantay gubat, an matrayumpong Mayor’s Cup buda BiDa Cup, an
marhay na serbisyo kan mga kapulisan sa pamamayo ni PSI Ronaldo V.
Guiriba, an matuninong na pag-Oplan Tokhang, an mga checkpoint buda
serbisyo kan LTO-Legazpi arog kan caravan...
Despite
these positive changes, there are still a lot of issues, problems and
cases raised that remain unsolved. The issue of improper waste
management, the continuing water supply shortage in some areas in the
municipality, the low power supply distribution to the majority of
the barangays, noise pollution at night, over loading, illegal
fishing and logging and a lot more! And to name some pending projects
and proposals such as the UV Express Service proposal, diversion road
project and plans of relocating the market etc. These urgently need
to be solved and be taken action!
Sa
ibong kaining mga positibong pagbabago dakol pa man an mga problema
buda mga isyung kaipuhan ki tulos na atensyon buda aksyon. Ang isyu
kan basura, tubig, kuryente, ribok pag banggi, overloading, iligal na
pagsisira buda pangangahoy… yaon man an planong pagkakaigwa ki UV
Express Service, an planong diversion
road buda
an paglipat kan saudan.
We
commend hardworking officials, the Local Government Unit of Manito
headed by Mayor Joshua Mari Daep, the Manito Municipal Police Station
headed by PSI Ronaldo V. Guiriba, and all other agencies and
organizations.
We
should continue to aim higher for ourselves and for our town. Many
years had passed but there are still a lot of years to come so we
better do whatever we can to take part in the progress and change
that most of us have been waiting for.
Dai
ta ipag-asa an gabos sa mga pulitiko, dapat magmawot kita mismo na
magkaigwang parte sa pagbabago buda progresong aloy ta nang
pighahalat na mangyari sa Manito.
Let
us not only depend on our political leaders but let us also become
more responsible citizens of our country and faithful servants of our
Almighty God.
A
blessed Christmas and a meaningful new year to everyone!
